2018-Cannon-Champs-Sease-ToddBEAUFORT, South Carolina (June 3, 2018) — Two man aggregate is supposed to be nerve-wracking. Surely one player is going to take a big number someplace and offset some birdies, especially with marshes lurking and an island green par-3 to negotiate at No. 17, — just like TPC only smaller.

Don’t tell that to the winners of the Mid-Am Cannon Division, Walt Todd, Jr. and Jordan Sease., or the runners-up Jake Shaw and Mark Hanley. For their part, the Florida duo of Hanley and Shaw pulled up from the bottom third of the field to leaders in the clubhouse after posting rounds of 64 (Shaw) and 73 (Hanley).

Todd-SeaseBEAUFORT, South Carolina (June 2, 2018) — Due to a heavy thunder and lightning “cell” passing directly over the area after play today and knocking out power, today’s report from Secession GC will be brief. We can, however, report on a close race as the first two rounds of Best-Ball concluded. And we had an Ace today, which is always fun.

First round leaders Walt Todd Jr. and Jordan Sease fFollowed up their first round 65 with another solid round of 66 to stand in a three-way tie with two other teams whose solid play today allowed them to join in the fun of sleeping on a lead.

Colby Harwell and Ed Sanchez win the 2016 Devlin

devwindBEAUFORT, South Carolina (Sept. 11, 2016) — During the final round of The Devlin Four-Ball Invitational the format is “count both” aggregate scoring and anything can happen. However, on this Sunday 36-hole leaders Colby Harwell and Ed Sanchez were able to maintain their lead and seal the deal.

After a pair of 8-under 64′s to begin the weekend at Secession Golf Club, Harwell and Sanchez were able to close with a team combined total of 3-over 147 to finish 13-under and ahead of Ron Kirkpatrick and Vince Sumner by one.
For Harwell and Sanchez, both from San Antonio, TX it was their first trip to The Devlin and they certainly made the most of it.

Charlotte, NC residents Kirkpatrick and Sumner started the day in second place one-stroke behind the leaders thanks to rounds of 64-65, but they weren’t able to gain any ground on Sunday as they too shot a 3-over 147 to finish play 12-under.

Kel Devlin (son of golfing legend Bruce, who the tournament is named for), from Weatherford, TX and his partner Greg Chapman, from Houston, TX finished in third place at 11-under.
